Pricing & Payments

  • Private Tutor Rate: $40/hr + HST
  • Payment Method: Weekly automatic bank withdrawal (direct debit). EDUCO does not accept credit cards, EMT, or cash payments.
  • Payments are continuous from your start date until cancellation.
  • To stop a pre-authorized payment, at least one (1) week’s notice must be provided before the next scheduled payment.

Example:
If your tutoring begins on September 5th, automatic payments will start that week. If you wish to stop, you must notify EDUCO at least one week before your final scheduled session.

Rescheduling & Missed Sessions

  • To reschedule, at least 4 hours' notice must be given directly to the tutor.
  • Sessions must be rescheduled within 14 days of the original date.
  • Less than 4 hours' notice or a "no show" will result in losing the session with no reschedule or refund.

Example:

  • If your child is sick at 11:00 a.m. and their session is at 6:00 p.m., you can email the tutor to reschedule since more than 4 hours’ notice is provided.
  • If you cancel at 5:30 p.m. for a 6:00 p.m. session, the session is lost and cannot be rescheduled.

Minimum Commitment Policy

  • Tutoring sessions are booked on a weekly recurring basis until cancellation. Students must adhere to their scheduled tutoring hours each week to stay enrolled.
  • A minimum of one week's notice is required to cancel.
  • The minimum commitment includes NL Schools holidays (Christmas, Easter, PD Days). Sessions during these times must either be:
  1. Rescheduled within 14 days, or
  2. Used in advance

Example:
If the student's weekly session falls on Good Friday, you can either reschedule to an available day within the next 14 days or arrange to have the session in advance.

Matching with a Tutor

  • Students are matched with tutors on a first-come, first served basis.
  • Students starting earlier in the school year will be matched with tutors before students starting later.
  • We aim to match students with a tutor within 2 business days of receiving the request form.

Example:
If you submit your request form in August with a start date in September, the student will be prioritized over someone who submits a form in August, with a start date in October.

Holidays & Breaks

  • EDUCO does not pause weekly billing during holidays or PD days.
  • Sessions can be rescheduled within 14 days of the holiday or used in advance.

Example:
If your tutoring session falls on Thanksgiving Monday, you can reschedule to another available day within two weeks or arrange with the tutor to use the session in advance.

Ending Tutoring / Stopping Payments

  • Clients must give at least one (1) week's notice before ending tutoring.
  • To stop a pre-authorized payment, at least one (1) week’s written notice must be provided to EDUCO before the scheduled payment date.
  • Notice must be provided by email or text to EDUCO.

Example:
If you send an email on May 1st to end tutoring, the student's last session (and final payment) will fall during the week of May 8th.
